Ingredients
- Eggs 6 large (Separate yolk and whites)
- Sugar 150g
- Plain flour 150g
- Juice/Water 140ml
- Oil 100ml
- Cream of tartar 1tsp
- Baking powder 1tsp
- Salt (pinch)
- Pandan flavor 1tsp, or small bit of lemon
Equipment
- Chiffon cake pan
Method
Preheat oven to 180°C
Batter
- Sift flour, add salt, baking powder
- Warm the oil, add to dry ingredients, along with water
- Stir in egg yolk one by one
- Add pandan flavor
Whip the egg whites
- Separate egg whites from the egg yolks
- Whip egg whites with Sugar
- Add Cream of tartar towards the end until they become stiff peak
Combine
- Combine and fold, pour into pan
- Cook in oven 180°C ~ 40min
- Insert skewer to make sure it’s not wet
- Immediately invert the pan and cool with water spray / wet towels
- Wait till completely cool, Cut out the cake with a plastic knife.
